Welcome to the G.I.M.P. Show Podcast!
In today’s episode we are going to give you a behind the scenes look into our relationship as well how this podcast came to be. As you probably already know, Mike Berkson has cerebral palsy, and Tim Wambach does not, but these two formed a dynamic relationship dating back to 2001.
Tim was Mike’s one-on-one aide in school, doing the things for Mike that he wasn’t able to do for himself. Through the years their relationship grew and their bond became stronger. Mike found another advocate to help him grow and move past his many physical challenges.
No one could have predicted that these two would be traveling the country motivating and entertaining thousands of people along the way. This podcast is designed to help those in the special needs community, parents, caregivers, advocates, people with disabilities, or just anyone wanting to learn more. There no holds barred approach and pure honesty is truly a gift for this community.
Mike and Tim always knew that they had a story to tell and this podcast is another outlet, on top of their stage show and their speaking, to share information to large audiences. In this Episode: How Tim’s major in college, helped him start this podcast.
Hear how Mike compares their relationship to a marriage. How Tim was motivated to help others see Mike’s intelligence and sense of humor. You will find out how a trip to Taco Bell brought them closer together and how Mike described his hunger as a twelve-year old. You will learn how “mistakes” are just a myth. How a trip to Washington D.C. opened Tim’s eyes to the world of special needs. How a jog led to starting a non-profit organization, as well as Handicap This Productions.
We dare you not to laugh at Mike’s quick-wit!
