We have always tried to educate people. With our show, we’re able to do it in an entertaining way, but sometimes ignorance is no laughing matter.
One day I dropped Mike off at the movies with a friend. I pulled the van into the designated handicap parking spot, got Mike onto the lift, lowered him to the ground, closed up the van, and rolled him to the door to meet his friend. I didn’t see the movie with them. I wanted to get some-much needed work done while waiting for Mike in the van. I made some phone calls, followed up with some potential clients, and did some writing.
About 90 minutes later, I started to wrap up my business as I expected Mike to be rolling out soon. I looked up and saw there was a car parked right next to us. The spot this person took was not even a parking spot – it was the passenger-loading zone for the handicap spot. You know, that area next to a handicap parking spot with the yellow diagonal lines? Yeah, not a parking spot!
I couldn’t believe it. This person was completely blocking the entire loading area! Mike wouldn’t be able to get anywhere close to the van and there was no way the lift could pick him up. With Mike coming out any minute, I got out of the van with my camera and this is what we captured…
